
Ian Whittock

Mr Ian Whittock is a Member of the Board of Saray Capital Ltd and Saray Capital (DIFC) Ltd. He is currently retained as an independent member of the Investment Committee at KFIM, having joined the firm in 2012.
Ian has extensive experience of the European and UK real estate markets and has been involved in a number of high profile transactions representing institutional investors from North America, Europe, the Middle East and, notably, Asia.
At KFIM Ian was responsible for market analysis and investment strategy and also chaired the KFIM Investment Committee. During his tenure as CIO of KFIM, the firm’s AUM grew from £400m to £4bn. After he retired in 2019 Ian acted as a consultant to the business until November 2022.
Ian has worked in property since 1983, joining Baring Houston and Saunders in 1987 which became ING Real Estate Investment Management in 1995, at the time the largest real estate investment manager in the world. Ian was appointed head of ING REIM UK property investment analysis and strategy, was a Trustee on the firm’s pension fund and became a Managing Director of the London office. In 2004 Ian was asked to head up the firm’s European investment research and strategy. He held this post until appointed CIO of the UK in 2008.
Ian holds a BSc. (Estate Management), ACIArb, FRICS, and was until retirement FCA regulated.
